The Office Assistant - The Smart MS Word Help Feature
Have you ever felt trapped while doing something on Microsoft Word and you didn't know what to do that you seek the help of almost everybody? This is just a normal situation that you might get into while working on Microsoft Word. There are times that you wonder how come something ended that way or no matter what you do, you just feel like there is something wrong. Because the Microsoft Word Processing software was created for a lot of different purposes, you just can not help but to ask how this or that can be done. Because of the various functionalities and features integrated with Microsoft Word, its developer integrated a built-in MS Word Help feature that you can use each time you need assistance. This is also called as the Office Assistant. Once the Microsoft Word was launched, the Office Assistant will automatically appear usually at the bottom of the window. If it did not appear, you can manually show it by clicking on the HELP link on the Menu Bar and select SHOW THE OFFICE ASSISTANT. Should you wish to hide it, you can right click the Office Assistant and select HIDE. You can also do this by clicking the HELP link again located on the Menu Bar and select HIDE THE OFFICE ASSISTANT. By default, the Office Assistant of Microsoft Word is Clippit, a mini animated paper clip. Should you wish to change Clippit, you may do so by clicking on the Office Assistant and select CHOOSE ASSISTANT\'85 Aside from Clippit, there are seven more Office Assistants to choose from.
There is Dot, a red circular smiley; F1, a mini robot; Office Logo, a colorful 4-piece diamond-shaped puzzle; Merlin, the wise and magical magician; Mother Nature, the earth displaying different images from nature; Links, a cutie kitten and Rocky, a friendly dog. You can also edit or customize your Office Assistant settings by right clicking it and select OPTIONS. Once in a while, Office Assistant will give you suggestions if it detected that you are having difficulty while doing something on Microsoft Word. It is even better than a Microsoft Word video tutorial. A light bulb will appear on top of it. When you click on the Office Assistant then, its suggestion will be displayed. If in case you would like to manually call for the Office Assistant's help, all you have to do is click it. A list of possible things that you would like to do will appear on the conversation box and a small search field at the bottom. If it did not display the feature that you would like to know, just type it on the search field then click the SEARCH button or click on SEE MORE link. A list of links with information that you would like to know will appear. To view the entry, just click on the link and you will be all set. |
